How one state trained generations of women for political careers, USA

Source:

When it comes to helping women build careers in politics, some states do better than others. For more than two decades, women in Indiana have been getting their first taste of public service through the Lugar Series. What we have learned here in Indiana is that we can do so much to expand the ranks of women leaders in politics, especially on the Republican side of the aisle, through a combination of outreach and engagement.

Parties to give women a fair deal?, India

Changing scenarios and increasing awareness are expected to an enhanced representation of women in the forthcoming state assembly elections. If the trends and statements of senior leaders of the political parties in the state are taken into consideration, BJP and Congress are expected to field the largest number of women candidates than ever. While the women's wing of the state PCC has demanded that 33% of the total candidates should be women, the Mahila Morcha of BJP too is not far behind.
