The elimination of Roberta Metsola Tedesco Triccas and Marlene Mizzi in the final counts of the European Parliament election votes ensured that Malta received a dubious honour: that of being the only EU member state without any female MEPs.As was the case in 2004, all 5 successful candidates are male, as is the potential future sixth MEP.
