Regional seminar on the SDGs for Asia-Pacific Parliaments

The National Assembly of Pakistan and the IPU are jointly organizing a regional seminar for the Asia-Pacific region’s parliaments entitled Development for all: Parliament’s road map on the Sustainable Development Goals. This event is the third in a series of seminars for the region on the SDGs, the previous two having been hosted by the Parliament of Viet Nam (in 2017) and the Parliament of Mongolia (in 2018).

The aim of the seminar is to provide parliamentarians and parliamentary staff with a platform to share experiences, acquire up-to-date information on the progress of SDG implementation in the Asia-Pacific region, and discuss the main challenges as well the opportunities for advancing the realization of the SDGs from the social, economic and environmental perspectives.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the key role played by parliaments in the SDG implementation process as well as on other topical issues, such as: climate change, hunger and malnutrition, decent work, technology and innovation, clean water and sanitation, and sustainable peace.

The proceedings will be conducted in English.
