"We go to elections next year and every politician will say education is a priority," yet according to Gugu Ndebele, the executive director of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG), this never materialises.
She insists that in order to turn the country’s education system around, leaders have to move beyond just pronouncements. She says every department that has a role to play, must prioritise fixing the schooling system.
