Women political participation in Pakistan is constrained due to deep-rooted gender inequality and politics of patronage. There is need to not only sensitize political leadership but also introduce broader legislative and electoral reforms to strengthen women political leadership in Pakistan.
This was discussed at the report launch and roundtable discussion organized by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Pakistan. The report titled “Strengthening Women’s Political Participation and Leadership for Effective Democratic Governance in Pakistan: A Baseline Research Study” seeks to identify the strengths and challenges related to role of women parliamentarians in the democratic politics and governance of Pakistan.
