Hillary Clinton: A long journey

Source:

Over the decades, Hillary Clinton has gone from student activist to globetrotting stateswoman. On her last day as US secretary of state, has her journey ended or is there more to come?

After travelling almost a million miles around the globe, she leaves her job as secretary of state with close to 70% approval ratings - higher than any outgoing secretary of state measured since 1948, with the exception of Colin Powell.

Although many have always admired her, she has had many detractors and her approval ratings have occasionally plummeted over the course of her career.

Gender equity: A model for prosperity

There is greater need for women to be on public boards and commissions that are critical to decision making about the development of Jamaica. Not only is there call to action for women to be selected for these positions, qualified and competent women who are needed, and yes, they exist. I am imploring the current decision-makers in Jamaica, yes we are a country that is accustomed to making decisions on a partisan politics basis but if Vision 2030 is to be anywhere near achieved then the interest of the country must supersede that of political parties.

USA: Why Family Is a Foreign-Policy Issue

Source:

I have a split personality these days. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I give speeches on work and family -- and the changes America needs to make to enable more professional women to get to the top. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I teach a course on the politics of public policy and give speeches about a wide range of foreign-policy issues. My audiences for the work-and-family talks are often interested in foreign policy as well, but for most people in my foreign-policy audiences, that "work/family stuff" is a completely separate arena, a sideline at best.
