Project Update
In order to showcase women’s experiences in politics and public life, iKNOW Politics is creating a film profiling testimonials of up to fifteen women leaders from around the world.
From December 8-10 iKNOW Politics participated in the Roundtable on the Southern African Development Community Regional Strategy for achieving the 50/50 target of women in politics by 2015. The participation was generously facilitated and funded by International IDEA.
From December 1-3 iKNOW Politics participated in UNDP’s International conference on Women and Governance in Eastern Europe and the CIS region.
The International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics (iKNOW Politics) held a two-day workshop on Women in Politics: Overcoming Barriers to Participation in Oslo, Norway.
From November 18-21, iKNOW Politics participated in the International Conference on Decentralization, local power and women’s rights hosted by IDRC (International Development Research Centre), the Government of Mexico, and UNDP Mexico.
On November 14-17, 2008 the iKNOW Politics project was presented at the International Forum for Women in Development organized by the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID).
On October 8, 2008 iKNOW Politics was presented to participants of the Club of Madrid Africa Women Leaders Forum in Brussels. Audience members included four former Heads of State, including H.E.
iKNOW Politics was presented to a study visit of the Women's Caucus of the Assembly of Kosovo on September 16-18 2008 in Oslo, Norway. The visit was sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Mission in Kosovo and hosted by the Oslo Governance Centre of UNDP.
